Midweek Hustle: Surviving Wednesdays, Homework Wins, and Business Breakthroughs
Wednesdays hit a little different now.
For the past three years, I was fortunate to work remotely, a luxury that allowed me to juggle motherhood, a federal day job, and the early stages of launching my dream baby clothing business, Tina’s Tiny Things. But now that I’m back in the office full-time, let me just say… the adjustment is real. My body and mind are still trying to recalibrate, and by Wednesday? Whew. I’m running on caffeine, sheer willpower, and whatever encouragement I can get from my kids’ smiles and a little progress on my business.
But today, I survived. Actually, I did more than survive, I made it home in time to help with homework, and bonus: tonight’s math was not a full-blown gladiator battle like it was earlier this week (you know what I’m talking about if you read my last blog post). My daughter actually understood the concepts with just a little guidance, and I didn’t need to summon my inner math magician or lose my patience. Small win? HUGE victory in this house.
Coming home after a long day at the office feels different now. There’s something about fluorescent lights, endless meetings, and the clack of government keyboards that just drains your soul in a way remote work never did. Still, I’m doing my best to stay positive. I truly believe that attitude shapes outcomes, and despite the exhaustion, I’m incredibly grateful to have a stable job and a business that keeps growing.
Speaking of which, I’m excited to share that I added 15 brand-new items to our inventory over at www.tinastinythings.com! These adorable new arrivals are filled with charm and made with love, just like everything in our store. From playful onesie sets to cozy little dresses, each piece is hand-picked to help your little one shine. It feels so rewarding to chip away at these business goals, even if it’s during those late-night hours after the kids are asleep and the house is finally quiet.
I’ve learned something new every day since I started this journey. Whether it’s product photography, SEO optimization, or navigating Shopify’s backend (why is that always trickier than it should be?), there’s always a new challenge and a new opportunity to grow. And I love that. It fuels me.
But let’s keep it real for a minute, none of this is easy. Motherhood by itself is a full-time role. Add a 9-to-5 on top of that, and then throw in a small business? Some days it feels like I’m climbing a mountain in fuzzy socks. That’s why I want to take a moment to shout out every mom out there who’s doing the most. Whether you’re clocking in for a traditional job, building a side hustle from your kitchen table, selling handmade crafts, driving Uber on weekends, or simply doing your best to hold it all together, you’re amazing.
You’re a superhero.
And I see you.
There’s something especially powerful about the moms who find the strength to dream bigger after bedtime stories are read and dishes are done. Those who say, “I know I’m tired, but let me do just one more thing for me, for my vision.” Whether it’s branding a product line like I’m doing with Tina’s Tiny Things, or writing a blog, or learning a new skill, your effort matters. It all matters. In a world full of uncertainty, having a purpose, a passion, or just a creative outlet is so important.
So to the mamas grinding late at night or hustling on their lunch breaks, you’re not alone. I’m right there with you. Let’s keep pushing. Let’s keep making a little progress each day. Even baby steps move us forward.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this little piece of my Wednesday chaos. If you have any tips, tricks, or words of wisdom on how you manage the madness, I’d love to hear them. Leave a comment, I’m always open to learning from fellow warriors in the trenches.
And don’t forget to check out the new arrivals on the site, I promise you’ll fall in love with the cuteness overload!
Until next time, keep showing up, keep dreaming, and keep building something beautiful.
With love and hustle,
Christina (aka Mom-in-Chief of Tina’s Tiny Things)
