Back to the Office, Grocery Crowds, and White Nursing Shoes – Just Another Day in Mom Mode
This past week was a lot. After being remote for so long, I officially returned to the office, and let me just say, the adjustment is real. Alarms are earlier, commutes are longer, and the days seem to stretch just a little bit more. But hey, moms make it work, right?
Fast forward to Saturday, the day before Easter, and guess where I found myself? Pushing a cart through a sea of last-minute shoppers, because of course, I couldn't put off grocery shopping any longer. School lunches don’t pack themselves, and dinner doesn’t magically appear (although wouldn’t that be nice?). With four hungry kids and a full week ahead, those groceries had to happen today—Easter crowd or not.
After surviving the lines, I came home, unloaded the bags (yes, all 27 of them), and tackled the house. Cleaning, tidying, trying to pretend like I had energy left, when all I really wanted was to sit down and breathe.
But the day had other plans.
Cue my 19-year-old: “Mom, I need white shoes for my nursing program. I start Monday.”
Of course you do.
So, off we went. Hopping from store to store trying to find white nursing shoes the day before a holiday weekend should honestly be a competitive sport. But we found them, thank goodness.
Came home, kicked off my shoes, and you know what I did next? I poured love into my little business—Tina’s Tiny Things—because this mama has dreams too. It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it. Every late-night product update, every order packed, every happy customer, it keeps me going.
And finally, I curled up with my kiddos and put on a movie. Because at the end of the day, no matter how wild it gets, family is the heartbeat of it all.
I’m adapting, I’m balancing, and I’m making it happen. This is mom life. This is boss life. This is my life.
Taking care of business, one white shoe emergency at a time.
